Free Christian Youth Poster Artwork: I Believe in Jesus!
The 1960s and '70s were some crazy times. I was a young man coming of age in those years. I well remember the hippies, the explosion in the use of drugs, the demonstrations against civil authority, against the war, against morality and order in general. It was a very interesting time to grow up. But it was no worse then than it is now, for young people. If anything, the attitudes of a few young people in those days has become the mindset of the adult generation today. Music, movies, TV shows, novels and you name it, all proclaim the same anti-everything mentality. Such attitudes only prove what the Bible has said for thousands of years: Generally speaking, humanity is in revolt against God, and against all things holy. This revolt is not new. It started in the Garden of Eden, with the very first generation of human beings. Adam and Eve followed the advice of God's enemy, the devil, and chose to rebel against their Creator. And all humankind has literally been on the road to hell ever since. Thankfully, God did not simply turn His back on us and go away. From the very beginning, the Lord of heaven and earth began to work out His plan of redemption, a plan that would save all who chose to believe Him. The Holy Bible is a record of the things God said and did, from the first, to rescue fallen humanity. In every generation, God has saved men, women and children who placed their faith in Him. Two thousand years ago, the Lord sent His own eternal Son into the world to live, to die and to rise again from the dead — the death and resurrection that would save in all generations the people who believed God. Jesus Christ was and is the eternal Son of God promised in Old Testament Scriptures, the Anointed One (the Messiah) who would save not only Israel but all people. John the Baptist introduced Him to the people of Judea as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world (read the first chapter of John's Gospel in the New Testament). Jesus is God who came to earth to personally deal with the problem of sin and death. He lives today, not just in the hearts of those who trust and love Him, but at the right hand of God the Father. The whole Bible talks about Him and what He has done, and what He is going to do on planet earth, and in the universe. It is worth knowing. Just as Jesus is worth knowing. I, for one, believe in Him.
